HR Manager 

Based in Budapest 

 

Purpose of the role

The HR Manager ensures quality and efficient HR operations in assigned countries, focusing on employee lifecycle processes, payroll compliance, and contracting. The role supports long-term compliance, process improvement, and automation initiatives while serving as the first point of contact for employees and service providers regarding escalated HR matters. 


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational functioning of HR in assigned countries 
  • Manage employee process flows, including new hires, transfers, and terminations, ensuring data accuracy in the employee management system 
  • Ensure smooth payroll cycles, including labor distribution records and leave accrual management 
  • Oversee annual payroll activities, such as opening, closing, and taxation compliance in each country 
  • Manage and coordinate payroll-related employee queries 
  • Monitor changes in labor and social security laws in collaboration with service providers, ensuring compliance 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, communicating changes to stakeholders 
  • Participate proactively in labor, tax, and internal audits 
  • Oversee hire-to-retire process flow and serve as the escalation point for issues or delays 
  • Manage external service providers, ensuring timely execution of SLAs and resolving escalated issues 
  • Track, report, and ensure KPI realization aligns with required standards 
  • Escalate potential risk factors to the Regional HR Manager when necessary 
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc executive reports 
  • Support long-term value creation and process redesign initiatives with Regional and Senior HR Managers 

 

People Management 

  • Ensure effective workforce management for operational tasks 
  • Monitor capacity and resources for HR Specialists 
  • Establish a stable knowledge management base for continuous business operations 
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback to Specialists 


Experience

3-5+ of overall experience with 2+ years of experience delivering and managing high-quality HR services in a fast-paced environment 


Hard skills

  • Advanced experience in core HR procedures 
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP/Payroll systems is an advantage 


Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree 


Language

Fluent English (both written and spoken); additional European language is a plus
